Porridge yam is a one pot meal that is prepared with white or yellow yams or any starchy tuber (cocoyam, plantains, cassava, potatoes); However, when you use a different starch, it takes the name of the starchy tuber. This is my new way to make Yam Porridge / Yam Pottage also known as Asaro. When the yams have got a good boil, add the grinded crayfish, blended pepper and onion, knorr/maggi cubes, palm oil and the smoked fish. Uncover the pot, and then with a wooden spoon break the yam down by gently mashing.

- Peel, wash and cube ur yams..
- In a pot of boiling water, Add salt, crayfish,knorr,dry pepper,grated onions and bring to a boil..
- Add ur yams and cook for abt 15mins then add ur beans and a little oil and cook till done..
- Ur yam porridge is ready, serve with chicken and any protein of choice..
